For the last few weeks, we have been working with athletes.  These are people who have already transformed their bodies through physical training and sports, they are highly energetic and dynamic, they are disciplined and they only want to get better and better.  They are committed to do whatever is necessary to accomplish their goals. And as a nice bonus:  they do their EFT homework!

On the other hand, in the past we have worked with people with chronic illness, childhood trauma and other conditions that limit their enjoyment of life.  My own long experience with Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome showed me that people suffering these kind of conditions, have the habit of taking care of others first, doing everything for everybody and neglecting to be kind to themselves. (in my case, I was not living, I felt that I was dying inside day and night and this lasted for over a decade).   I was merely surviving and struggling.

I love EFT because it has been the only tool that has been effective for me.

Maybe when we were little children, we perceived that we did not matter, we were not good enough and we were not worth our parents, or teachers’ time.  Therefore, we learned to sacrifice ourselves for the benefit of  others.  Does this sound familiar to you?  Do you recognize yourself here?   Do not despair, thanks to Gary Craig, the Creator and Developer of EFT, we now can use EFT to clear our childhood pain and our unhealthy patterns.

Setting the Intention to Heal:

Tap on Crown of head, karate chop point (side of hand) or on your favorite energy point and say:

I have the intention to feel good about myself and believe that I matter

I intend to take care of myself every day!


Rate the intensity of your specific problem on a scale of 0-10 (SUDS RATING-SUBJECTIVE UNITS OF DISTRESS)

10 meaning-your highest intensity (I feel terrible)

0 meaning-no intensity at all (I feel happy)  Drink water, remove cellular and metals)

While rubbing the sore spot on your chest or tapping the karate chop point of either hand (7-10 times) repeat the following phrases aloud:


Even though I feel like damaged goods, maybe something horrible happened to me in my life and I learned that I have to take care of others first. I don’t count now, I didn’t count then.  But I deeply and profoundly love and accept myself anyway

Even though somehow I learned that my needs don’t matter and I don’t matter, I am O.K. and I deeply and completely accept myself and I accept the fact that I am having this conflict

Even though I feel that I have to take care of others first and fix their problems and if I have some time and energy left, I might be able to take care of myself.  I recognize today, that this not a healthy pattern; it does not help me at all and it might contribute to emotional pain and illness in the future

Even though I really do not why, but I feel that I am not enough, nobody cares for me. I am not important.  What if the truth is that I really matter just because I was born and I exist?  I want to bring balance and harmony into my life.  Yes, I want to take care of myself because I am deserving of enjoying good health and dynamic energy and when I am healthy and balanced, then I can take care of others if that is what I want to do

Now tap on the following energy points while repeating your Negative Reminder Phrases.  (if possible tap on both sides of the face and body) (Use 3 or 4 fingers of one hand to tap on the energy points)

Crown of head: I feel like damaged goods

Beginning of eyebrow: I learned that I have to take care of others first

Side of eye: I don’t count now, I didn’t count then

Under eye:  I feel that I don’t matter, that I am not enough as I am

Under nose:  My needs and my health don’t matter

Chin: Their needs are more important than mine

Collarbone: Perhaps, I am not good enough

Under arm: I don’t take care of myself

Crown of head: I am kind and helpful to everyone else, but I am not kind and helpful with myself

Take a slow healing breath in and out and release your belief that you do not matter.  Release it  from your mind and body!

How do you feel?  Rate your intensity level on a scale of 0-10, do several rounds until your emotional intensity is down to ZERO.


Now tap REFRAMING AND POSITIVE CHOICES ON each of the following energy points:

Crown of head: I know that I am not some kind of defective  merchandise

Beginning of eyebrow: I am a whole person, there is nothing wrong with me

Side of eye I am learning to take care of myself

Under eye: Because I count now, because I always counted

Under nose: I recognize that I matter

Chin: Because there is someone, somewhere that knows that I matter

Collarbone: In my mind and in my heart I believe that I am important

Under arm: I am treating myself with respect every day!

Crown of head: I am kind and gentle with myself, and I am helping myself to become healthier, happier and more peaceful,  because I matter, because I have always been more than good enough!


Make your hand into a fist and tap on the middle of your chest (your heart center)

I am thankful for my wonderful mind and body

I am grateful because I finally recognize that I matter

I am grateful because I am helping myself to become healthier

I choose to feel grateful because it helps me to feel good

I am allowing  myself to infuse my mind and body with the healing energy of love and appreciation

I choose to feel grateful because I know that I matter to someone

God knows that I am precious  (The God  of your understanding, universe, source, etc)

I am grateful because I recognize that my body was created with the ability of healing itself

I appreciate that now that I embrace gratitude, it is easier for me to feel that I have always mattered!
