Hi Everybody!
EFT Helps Certified Fitness Trainer to Expand his Comfort Zone Part Two
As promised last week, here is part 2 of how EFT helped Fitness Trainer Expand his Comfort Zone and the success of his business!
This Case History was published by EFT Universe and this is how they introduced it tho their readers.
Part Two of Patrick Howell’s account of using EFT to help his client expand his business and attract customers. Once Walter’s fears and limiting beliefs are cleared, his business takes off and his self-confidence soars.
My client ” Walter ” came back for another session. He told me that he was so excited to go to the gym, but once he was on the floor, and he saw the opportunity to talk to a lady, his anxiety went up to a 5 or 6. He did some tapping and he felt more relaxed; he was able to approach her and offer his services to her. Walter also said that people at the gym are noticing him more, and the young ladies are also paying more attention to him wherever he is (which is not a good thing, because he is married ). His words: ” I am being more outgoing, I talk up a storm and I am finally living up to my potential.”
As usual we began by doing the constricted breathing technique. He tested at an 8 but really liked it when he was breathing at a 10 level.
I asked him, when you thought about approaching the lady at the gym, what was going through your mind? Walter said that it was very strange, before his first session, one of his friends used to go with him and stand behind him for moral support every time that he tried to approach a potential client. This time, Walter is afraid that his friend will make fun of him while he is talking to potential clients. He thinks his friend is just waiting for him to make a mistake. I asked Walter: “Has someone ever made fun of you because you are a fitness trainer?” he said that his relatives told him that fitness training was not a real career, and his mom always wanted him to go to college, so he could work for the state, but Walter doubted that his mom was the real issue, since she has always been a loving mom to him.
I told Walter to close his eyes and think about approaching the lady at the gym, with his friend right behind him and tell me what he feels. He said that he felt anxiety at a 7, on the 0-10 scale and he felt a weird sensation in his chest, it was also a 7.
We tapped:
Even though I am afraid that my friend is going to make fun of me if I make a mistake when I am talking to the client, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though my friend is just waiting for me to screw it up, so he can laugh at me, I deeply and completely love and accept myself and I am recognizing that I am making assumptions again.
Even though I am believing that my friend wants me to fail, I deeply love and accept myself, and I want to remember that is was him who supported me and stayed close to me so I could feel that I could talk to the client.
We did some rounds like these until his anxiety level was a 3 and the sensation in his chest was a 2.
I thought we could start addressing his mother issue, because she is such an important part of his life, and even if Walter consciously believes that his mother is not the problem, his subconscious mind might be afraid to disappoint her.
We did EFT on:
Even though my mom thinks that I should go to college, so I can work for the state and have a real job, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I am so scared of disappointing my mom, I am not doing what she wanted me to do, I am a total failure, I am a bad boy, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I am afraid my mom does not approve of me because I am a fitness trainer, now I am never going to work for the state, I just wanted her to be proud of me, I deeply and completely love and forgive myself for disappointing my mom and I want to prove her wrong, I want to be a success doing what I want to do.
After a few rounds, Walter reported that he really did not feel any anxiety about disappointing his mom. He recognizes that he could never sit behind a desk. He really wants to be successful doing what he wants to do.
I told Walter to remember how he felt when his relatives made fun of him, because he wanted to be a fitness trainer, really try to get into the situation and exaggerate their words, and the meaning behind their words. Walter said it was only a 3, and he did not have any sensations in his chest.
Even though my relatives made fun of me when they heard that I wanted to be a fitness trainer, I am OK and I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though my relatives think that fitness training is not a good career, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.
Even though I am afraid to be a successful fitness trainer, what are my relatives going to say if I am successful? – the funny thing about relatives is that it doesn’t matter if I fail or succeed, they will criticize me anyway, so I might as well be successful doing what I love.
We tapped like that until we brought his anxiety down to a zero. Walter said: “I want to improve myself, not for my relatives, but for me. Failing in my fitness business would be a major disappointment to myself.”
I asked Walter to close his eyes again, and visualize himself talking to the lady at the gym, and his friend is standing right behind him, his friend is laughing at him really loud and ridiculing him in front of his client. Walter started laughing , he said “that is really funny, my friend would never do that, he has always tried to cheer me on. He really wants me to do well.”
I told Walter to observe his interactions with others, and how he feels when he is trying to get new clients.
A few days later, I called him to find out what happened when he worked at the gym. Walter said that he picked up a big money client, who is going to train with him for the long-term. Walter is feeling more confident about his rates (even though we have not addressed them yet). He mentioned that before clients never called him. Now they are initiating the calls. Walter is being more proactive in his business, he upgraded his website, he put a beautiful ad banner on his car, and a lady that was driving behind him, actually called him because she wants to train. Walter said that he really feels more outgoing, which was his goal, since the beginning.
