“HOW TO CLEAR YOUR PROCRASTINATION WITH EFT”
I have been contemplating for some time, writing an EFT article
on procrastination, but I simply didn’t get around to do it.
Then, when I finally decided to focus my attention, I sat here looking at the empty page for a long time…
Has this ever happened to you? Have you had an important project and you didn’t do it until the last minute? Is it hard for you to get things done? For example, you might have the desire to change something in your life, but somehow you don’t take decisive action. Do you know what is stopping you?
One dictionary defines a ‘PROCRASTINATOR” as someone who delays action or postpones work out of laziness or habitual carelessness.
You probably agree that these are strong words, “laziness or habitual carelessness/” But…
- Are laziness and lack or attention really the reason why you procrastinate?
- Are there other fundamental reasons behind procrastination?
- Do you think that procrastination may be caused by childhood experiences?
- Are you delaying or postponing your healing, your success and feeling good about yourself based on those childhood experiences?

SETTING THE INTENTION TO HEAL:
Tap 7 to 10 times on your karate chop point (side of hand) or on your favorite point and say:
I have the intention to clear procrastination out of my life. I intend to get things done today!
When you think about not being able to accomplish what you desire because you have the habit of postponing it, what emotion do you feel? Where do you feel that emotion in your body?
Rate the intensity of your emotion on a scale of 0-10 (SUDS Rating-Subjective Units of Distress)
10 meaning – your highest intensity (I feel terrible)
0 meaning – no intensity at all (I feel happy) * Remember to drink water before and during tapping
While rubbing the sore spot on your chest or tapping the karate chop point of either hand (7-10 times) Repeat the following EFT Phrases aloud:
EFT SET UP PHRASES
Even though I have this frustrating habit of procrastination, I deeply and completely love and respect myself
Even though for one reason or for many reasons, I just can’t get things done, I deeply and completely love and forgive myself for anything that I have done to contribute to my procrastination problem
Even though it is the strangest thing, I say that I want to accomplish my goals, but then I do everything in my power so I don’t reach my success! I accept how I feel and how I react
Even though I don’t know why, but I just can’t move forward, I accept myself and I accept the fact that I am stuck
Even though it is a real problem, that I cannot get things done, I am open to the possibility that I can change because I do want to finish my projects
Now tap on the following energy points while repeating your negative reminder phrases: If possible tap on both sides of the face and body. (Use 3 or 4 fingers of one hand to tap on the energy points)
Crown of head: I procrastinate in life
Beginning of eyebrow: It is my habit
Side of eye: I don’t know what is wrong with me!
Under eye: I just cannot get things done
Under nose: And then everybody is questioning me and giving me a hard time
Chin: Did you do it?
Collarbone: Why didn’t you do it?
Under arm: I cannot move forward
Crown of head: I am afraid to try something new!
Beginning of eyebrow: I cannot get things done
Side of eye: I am afraid that I am going to fail
Under eye: I am sure that I will be a failure
Under nose: What if I am success?
Chin: Success frightens me too!
Collarbone: I am feeling so confused
Under arm: I have all these fears
Crown of head: What if I could release all these fears and easily do what I want to do. I am open to that
Take a slow healing breath in and out and release this procrastination habit, release it from every neural pathway in the brain
How do you feel?
Rate your emotional intensity level on a scale of 0-10, do several rounds until your intensity is down to ZERO.
Now tap REFRAMING AND POSITIVE CHOICES on each of the following energy points:
Crown of head: What if could release this procrastination habit?
Beginning of eyebrow: I am allowing myself to change
Side of eye: I would love to see my dreams fulfilled
Under eye: I want to be recognized by my merits and my talents
Under nose: Maybe, I just wasn’t getting things done so people will pay attention to me
Chin: The problem is that it was the wrong kind of attention
Collarbone: Sometimes when I do good things, I never get the recognition
Under arm: Maybe as a child I learned to delay things so I could get some attention
Crown of head: But I am an adult now, and I am acting in life with the mind of a little kid
Beginning of eyebrow: I have decided today to change this old pattern
Side of eye: I choose to be eager to try something new
Under eye: I no longer need people’s approval to live my life
Under nose: I am living my life on my own terms. It is about time
Chin: I am giving myself permission to reach out for the stars
Collarbone: I am not postponing my actions any longer
Under arm: I am clearing all the reasons why I procrastinate
Crown of head: And I am feeling confident about achieving my goals. It is getting easier to get things done and I feel great!
Take a slow healing breath in and out and relax your mind and body!
Put your hand on the middle of your chest (your heart center) and tap while repeating aloud:
I am grateful because I am getting things done
I am grateful because I am taking action
I really appreciate that I am feeling so confident
I am grateful because I am achieving my goals
I am grateful because my dreams are coming true
I am grateful because I am embracing my success
Just remember, “Clearing the Habit of Procrastination and the beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you, frees you so You can Love Yourself Unconditionally and then Love Others”
